History of Mack Pediatrics
I am Dr. Emili Mack (MD, FAAP). Raleigh has been my home-base since 1993. After I completed my medical training, I served as a full-time pediatrician in a small, private practice called Shore Fun Pediatrics in coastal NC for 2 years. That was a great experience, perfect in many ways. Once my first child was born, my husband and I decided that it was most important to be close to our families and we relocated back to Raleigh. In the summer of 2008, I was honored to join Oberlin Road Pediatrics as a part-time pediatrician.

I am one of those pediatricians that forms a strong bond of continuity and trust with a family. I enjoyed my time at Oberlin Road Pediatrics, serving so many incredible Raleigh-area families for over 10 years. I also got the opportunity to be home with my children during their early childhood. Yet, I also worked every weekend. After my youngest started kindergarten in 2015, our family needed a change. In addition, my patient families wanted full-time availability, which was not possible in my part-time role. By 2018, I decided that it was time to establish Mack Pediatrics.

Mack Pediatrics has been growing daily. The EHR has worked well, and the patient portal interface has been well-received. Juan Pablo Mack is a dedicated practice manager. Pediatric nurses Barbara Vinsel, RN, and Kaylin Gibson, RN joined Mack Pediatrics in 2019. Daisy Garcia became our new receptionist 2020, taking over for Julia Cardona Mack. Our team has been working well together! The COVID-19 pandemic and national PPE shortage has required many changes, but we are all looking forward to a healthy future together.

I am in-network at Mack Pediatrics for Aetna*, Ambetter, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Humana*, MedCost, Medicaid, Multiplan, and United Healthcare, and have contracted with the upcoming managed care community health plans for the Medicaid managed-care transition. *Out-of-network for Duke Open Access Aetna Select plan and Humana-Military (Tricare).

Establishing Mack Pediatrics has been the best for me as pediatrician and a mother. I love being available to my patient families every day! My children are proud of Mack Pediatrics, and love having me home more on the weekends. My husband has been incredibly supportive. As I grow this practice, I welcome feed-back from families with the mutual goal of making this practice special.

Thank you!
Emili Mack, MD
